Dr. Scott Whiteman
Dr. Whiteman is the founder and president of Willow Wood Animal Hospital. He is a member of The Society of Phi Zeta, which is the Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine, the OVMA, the AVMA, and the AAHA. He is also a member of the New Albany Chamber of Commerce and Jersey Baptist Church. He is the father of three. Dr. Whiteman has a yellow Lab named Sunny, a mixed breed rescue, Maisy, and a cat named Nadia.
Dr. Mark Hess
Dr. Hess graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Nuclear Engineering in 1991. After working for 8 years as a Senior Nuclear Engineer for an electric utility company, he went back to school to follow his passion. He received his DVM from The Ohio State University in 2003 and joined Willow Wood Animal Hospital in 2004. Dr Hess currently resides in New Albany with his wife, three daughters, and their dogs Mojo and Moose. Outside of work, Dr. Hess can usually be found on a soccer field, either playing the game he loves, watching his kids play, or coaching.
Dr. Julie Connolly
Dr. Julie Connolly joined Willow Wood Animal Hospital in February 2021. She has a B.S. in Systems Analysis and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 2008. Dr. Connolly is especially interested in surgery, pain management, and supporting spay/neuter programs. Outside of work, she enjoys movies, reading, travel, music, and personal fitness. She has three cats and a dog.
Stacie, RVT
Stacie is a Registered Veterinary Technician at Willow Wood Animal Hospital. She earned her associate's degree from Columbus State Community College in 2006 and is a member of the Ohio Association of Veterinary Technicians. She enjoys all aspects of her career, but her favorites are taking x-rays and performing dental cleanings. When not at Willow Wood, she likes spending time with her husband Rod and two young children. Stacie has one sweet cat named Dot.
Terri
Terri joined Willow Wood Animal Hospital in 2008 as the evening and Saturday morning receptionist. She has a soft spot for large breed dogs. She earned her degree in Elementary Education in 1990, and her other passions include gardening, knitting, and spending her days as a Kindergarten teacher.
Danielle, RVT
Danielle joined our team in the fall of 2015. She chose the veterinary field because of her love of animals. She has three dogs named Snoopy, Sammy, and Morgan who are all goldens. Can you guess what breed is Danielle’s favorite? If you guessed golden retriever you are correct! When she is not at work you can find her spending time with her two children Addison and Carter and her husband Chad. Danielle also enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking with her dogs, and photography.
Lauren
Lauren started over twenty years ago as a client at Willow Wood Animal Hospital before attending The Vet Tech Institute at Bradford School. She graduated in 2014 with her Associate's Degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. As a veterinary technician her favorite areas of the field are radiology and nursing care. In her free time she enjoys taking her two dogs, Roscoe P and Margot, to the park, as well as spending time with friends and family.
Kristen
Kristen joined our team in the January of 2019. She has been in customer service positions and was a loan officer previously. When she is not at work you may find her with her head in a textbook studying to become a veterinary technician through Penn Foster, or at a hockey game, painting, or spending time with friends and family. Kristen was in the OSU Juggling club for three years while earning her BA in History! She has a total of four dogs and four cats. She has heart for rescuing pets in need and sometimes calls her house the “Island of Misfit Toys”.
Laura
Laura has worked in a veterinary hospital since she was 10 years old. Since graduating tech school, she has worked in general practice, emergency medicine and specialty medicine. She lives with one of the best dachshunds, Ace, a very ornery and well loved cat, Mitty, and has two aquariums full of shrimp and fish. In her free time, Laura enjoys redecorating her home and playing with her pets.
Marissa
Marissa joined Willow Wood Animal Hospital in May of 2018 as a weekday receptionist. Her favorite part of working at Willow Wood is getting to know each pet’s unique personality and learning about the special connections they share with their families. Some of her favorite activities include nature photography, camping, hiking in the Rocky Mountains, & spending time with her husband Merrit and their exuberant German Shorthaired Pointer, Luger.
Sarah
Sarah joined the Willow Wood AH team in October of 2020. She has an extensive group of animals at home, including goats, dogs, chickens, turkeys, and guinea fowls. In her free time she is consumed by taking care of all of her critters. When she is not involved with her animals you will find Sarah and her husband Michael working around their property or after a long day’s work you may find them relaxing in the swimming pool. Sarah has owned animals her entire life which has taught her the unconditional love that they provide to their humans.
Marquita
Marquita joined our team in the spring of 2020. She has always had a love for dogs but even more so after she rescued her fur kid Mia. Mia is now almost 8 years old and is the most amazing girl you will meet. Marquita joined our team after she gained interest in the field after adopting Mia. She wanted to learn as much as possible so she could provide the best care she could for her sweet girl. She has an ornery puppy named Javi. When Marquita is not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband Jacob, reading, traveling, and cooking. She also has a love for reality television, volleyball and softball. She has played volleyball and softball since she was 10 years old.
Lexi
Lexi has been part of the Willow Wood Team her whole life since growing up around the hospital. Some may know her dad as one of our amazing doctors here. She has multiple fur kids including 2 feline friends named Oak and Cedar who are brothers that she fostered from 2-3 weeks old. Her canine kiddo is Evie, a 3-year-old Collie/Shepherd mix. When Lexi is not at work she enjoys hiking, reading, video games, baking/cooking, and different television shows.
Melody
Melody joined our team in the fall of 2019 as a veterinary technician. She has an extensive love of animals and medicine. She is able to use her knowledge that she gained from attending Columbus State each day she is at work. When she is not at working she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, hiking, baking, and reading.
Tim
Tim joined us in the spring of 2021. He is currently in the Marine Corps and previously worked in retail management. He has 2 cats named Fish and Goose, a Tree Walker Coonhound named Lady, and a painted turtle named Theodore. In his free time you may find him playing guitar or fishing.
Rachel
Rachel joined our team in the spring of 2021. She previously worked at an animal boarding and daycare facility, but decided to join our team because of the love and compassion she has for all animals. Rachel has a 3-year-old small mixed breed named Evee, and Mr. Superman himself: Clark Kent, who is a 2-year-old short haired kitty, two cats. When she is not at work she is spending time with Cody, her fiancé; she enjoys camping, bike riding, reading, and spending time with family.
Allison
Allison joined our team in the summer of 2021. She has been a vet tech for 16 years! Allison joined the field because she wanted to make sick animals better. She says, “They’re the only ones that give us unconditional love, they deserve the
best care and that I want to be their voice.” She has five pets- Winchester (corgi), Oliver (corgi), Rocket (1/2 corgi), Apollo (cat), and Hally (cat). When Allison isn’t at work she is spending time with her son Atticus, going bowling, catching a new movie, or heading to a concert, working out, or singing some karaoke. One unique fact about Allison is you can always find her hair a different color. She likes to stand out and be unique. She says she also has the loudest laugh and always wears her heart on her sleeve.
Ashley
Ashley joined the Willow Wood Team in spring 2021 as a veterinary assistant. She has a passion for helping others and previously used her nursing degree from Ohio State University to make a difference for her patients in a variety of medical settings. Now, Ashley enjoys working with furry patients instead and hopes to pursue further education as a veterinary technician. Ashley has one adorable dog named Aries.
Liz
We welcomed Liz to our team in 2022. She is from Alabama and is studying prevet and animal science at OSU.
