Dr. Scott Whiteman Dr. Scott Whiteman is the founder and president of Willow Wood Animal Hospital. In addition to being the father of three human children, he is also a proud pet parent to Sunny, a yellow Labrador; Maisy, a rescued mixed breed; and Nadia, the queen of the castle, a beloved cat. Dr. Whiteman is an active member of the New Albany Chamber of Commerce and Jersey Baptist Church.

A passionate advocate for veterinary excellence, Dr. Whiteman is a member of several prestigious veterinary associations, including The Society of Phi Zeta, the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). He takes great pride in Willow Wood Animal Hospital’s AAHA accreditation, demonstrating the hospital's commitment to exceeding the high standards of care set by AAHA. Dr. Whiteman earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University.
Dr. Mark Hess Dr. Mark Hess is a proud father of three children and two beloved fur babies. Mojo, his adorable Border Terrier, channels his inner Emmet Otter, while Moose, a high-energy and affectionate Austrian Shepherd, keeps the family on their toes. Dr. Hess claims he’s restoring a 1967 Mustang, though we’ve yet to see him behind the wheel. He’s also an avid sports fan, with soccer being his top favorite.

Dr. Hess started his career as a nuclear engineer before making the exciting shift to veterinary medicine. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University, and we’re so glad he made the change!
Dr. Julie Connolly If you ever ask, "Have you seen [insert movie title]?" there's a good chance Dr. Connolly has—she has a broad interest in all kinds of movies and loves watching them with her son and husband. Recently, Dr. Connolly has taken up watercolor painting, and we can’t wait to see her creations. We’re hoping one day she’ll paint her beloved pets, a dog and a cat.

Dr. Connolly made a successful transition from being a systems analyst to becoming a veterinarian, and we’re so grateful she did! She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University.
Stacie, RVT Stacie has a great sense of humor—just ask her about her solid gray cat, "Dots," a name chosen by her daughter! With two young kids keeping her schedule full, Stacie still finds time to enjoy the outdoors and has recently been honing her photography skills. We love seeing the beautiful photos she captures!

A graduate of Columbus State Community College with an Associate's in Veterinary Technology, Stacie is also an active member of the Ohio Association of Veterinary Technicians.
Terri Where’s Terri? If we can’t find her, she’s likely at her full-time job as a kindergarten teacher or snuggling with a large breed dog. St. Bernards, beware Terri is coming for you! Her favorite large breed, of course, is her own rescued dog, Angel.

Terri is also the one keeping all our indoor plants thriving. A passionate gardener, she has extensive knowledge of both indoor and outdoor plants, ensuring they’re always in top shape.
Danielle, RVT If you bring in a Golden Retriever, you can count on Danielle to go above and beyond to assist you—they’re by far her favorite breed! While she loves all dogs, Goldens truly have a special place in her heart. At home, she lives with two Goldens, Snoopy and Sammy, as well as a cat who, if Golden Retrievers could be cats, would undoubtedly fit the bill.

Danielle also has a passion for photography, always finding inspiration with her two Goldens and three children, who make for perfect photo subjects.

A proud graduate of Denison University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, Danielle also earned her Associate's in Veterinary Technology from Columbus State Community College.
Lauren Lauren started over twenty years ago as a client at Willow Wood Animal Hospital before attending The Vet Tech Institute at Bradford School. She graduated in 2014 with her Associate's Degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. As a veterinary technician her favorite areas of the field are radiology and nursing care. In her free time she enjoys taking her two dogs, Roscoe P and Margot, to the park, as well as spending time with friends and family. Kristen Kristen lives with a lively crew of four dogs and four cats, all of whom have special needs, earning her home the nickname “The Island of Misfit Toys.” She’s currently studying to become a Registered Veterinary Technician and is eager to complete her studies and pursue her passion. Outside of her busy life with her pets, Kristen is an avid ice hockey fan, cheering on the Blue Jackets. In her downtime, she enjoys painting, and perhaps one day we’ll be lucky enough to display one of her pieces at Willow Wood! Laura Laura has worked in a veterinary hospital since she was 10 years old. Since graduating tech school, she has worked in general practice, emergency medicine and specialty medicine. She lives with one of the best dachshunds, Ace, a very ornery and well loved cat, Mitty, and has two aquariums full of shrimp and fish. In her free time, Laura enjoys redecorating her home and gardening. Marissa Many of you may remember Marissa from the front desk, where she greeted everyone starting in 2018. While she’s still an important part of the Willow Wood team, Marissa is now working remotely from beautiful Colorado. She loves hiking in the mountains and capturing nature through photography. Marissa also cherishes her time with her family, including her husband, daughter, and German Shorthaired Pointer, Luger, often capturing wonderful moments together. Sarah Sarah has had a variety of pets during her time at Willow Wood, from a farm dog to chickens, goats, and even an aquarium full of fish. These days, her focus is on caring for her son and enjoying the peaceful joys of country living. Marquita Marquita has been a valued member of our team since 2020! Although she’s no longer in the Willow Wood office, having recently relocated to picturesque Western Maryland, you’ll still hear her friendly voice when you call in. Marquita is embracing the natural beauty of her new surroundings and adjusting to life in the mountains, a big change from the flat landscapes of Central Ohio. Lexi Lexi has been part of the Willow Wood Team her whole life since growing up around the hospital. Some may know her dad as one of our amazing doctors here. She has multiple fur kids including 2 feline friends named Oak and Cedar who are brothers that she fostered from 2-3 weeks old. Her canine kiddo is Evie, a 3-year-old Collie/Shepherd mix. When Lexi is not at work she enjoys hiking, reading, video games, baking/cooking, and different television shows. Melody Melody became a valued member of our team in the fall of 2019 as a veterinary technician. With a deep love for animals and medicine, she brings her expertise, gained through her studies at Columbus State, to her work every day. Melody’s compassionate care and attention to detail make her an integral part of our team.

When she’s not at work, Melody enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughters. She loves hiking, baking, and reading, finding joy in both outdoor adventures and cozy moments at home. Melody’s passion for animals and her well-rounded interests make her a true asset to our team.
Tim When he’s able, Tim delights the Willow Wood team with his culinary creations. Even without a stove, he’s incredibly resourceful, whipping up fantastic meals using just an air fryer and electric griddle. We’re lucky to have him filling our bellies with his delicious dishes!

At home, Tim shares his life with a lively group of animals, including a dog, cat, chickens, and various aquatic pets. When he’s not caring for them, he enjoys fishing and playing guitar, keeping his hands full with his many passions.
Allison Allison joined our team in the summer of 2021 and brings 16 years of experience as a veterinary technician. Her passion for the field was sparked by a deep desire to help sick animals feel better. As she puts it, "They're the only ones that give us unconditional love, they deserve the best care, and I want to be their voice."

Allison is a proud pet mom to four animals: Oliver, her corgi; Rocket, a half-corgi; Apollo, a cat; and Hally, her other cat. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her son, Atticus, going bowling, catching the latest movies, attending concerts, working out, and singing karaoke. Known for having the loudest laugh and wearing her heart on her sleeve, Allison brings energy, compassion, and a big heart to our team every day.
Ashley Ashley joined the Willow Wood team in the spring of 2021 as a veterinary assistant. With a strong passion for helping others, she previously utilized her nursing degree from Ohio State University to make a difference in various medical settings. Now, Ashley is thrilled to work with furry patients and is excited to pursue further education to become a veterinary technician. She has one adorable dog named Aries, who brings joy to her life outside of work. Ashley’s compassionate nature and dedication to animal care make her an invaluable member of our team. Liz We welcomed Liz to our team in 2022. She is from Alabama and is studying prevet and animal science at OSU. Liz enjoys spending time with her dog. Audrey Audrey joined the team later in 2024 but has quickly become a major asset for Willow Wood with her expansive knowledge. Audrey grew up on a farm and participated in 4H for nearly a decade before becoming a CNA. Although Audrey loves caring for humans, she found her calling to be with the animals - and not just the furry ones! She owns several turtles and a snake as her primary pets, and she spends her time learning new crafts and teaching herself more about the wonderful, weird world we live in; her new dream is to pursue an education in animal care! You can find Audrey at the front desk, always smiling and diligently creating the most welcoming environment for both our human clients and our animal patients. Dr. Jen Boron Dr. Boron joined the Willow Wood Animal Hospital veterinary team in 2025. She brought with her over 16 years of veterinary experience, and a passion for wellness care, internal medicine, and surgery. She loves treating both canine and feline patients, and can't pick a favorite.

When she’s not helping pets feel their best, Dr. Boron enjoys crafting, spending time with her family, DIY home projects, and soaking up the sun on the beach in Michigan. She’s also a fan of office supplies like pens, Post-it notes, and might just be your go-to if you ever need a highlighter.

Dr. Boron lives in Hilliard with her husband, two kids, and her pittie mix, Jack, who became a permanent family member after she treated his fractured leg as a puppy.
Shelby Shelby has an animal science degree from The Ohio State University and has been at Willow Wood Animal Hospital since January 2024. Shelby has the best canine companion in the world, Toby, and now he is raising a Boston/Jack Russel mix, Rory, to be the best also. Toby is also training two human kids to feed him snacks all day long. He's still trying to train Shelby to do the same!
